In the afternoon on April 23, Pfizer and Nestle announced simultaneously that both parties have reached an agreement that Pfizer sold its nutrition business to Nestle at the price of US$ 11.85 billion. The milk business giants across the world have been gazing at Pfizer since Pfizer announced to be intended to split its Wyeth milk powder business valued about US$ 10 billion in July last year. Danone, Nestle, Meadjohnson, Heinz,Abbott and COFCO, a Chinese enterprise, all disclosed their intention to acquire Wyeth. As the competition goes, the two final rivals emerged without any doubt: Danone and Nestle.

According to The Report on Investment Analysis and Outlook Prediction of China Milk Powder Market from 2011 to 2015 issued by China Investment Consulting, by July, 2010, the market share percentages of Dumex, Meadjohnson, Nestle, Abbott and Wyeth are respectively 16.76%、12.06%、10.58%、7.29% and 4.72%, while the market share percentages of the China milk powder brands Yili, Beingmate(002570), Fir Mus, Shengyuan, Wondersun and Yashili are respectively 10.97%、7.13%、4.72%、3.27%、3.88% and 2.69%.
