CBME China 2024 Successfully Concluded in Shanghai on July 19!

On July 19, CBME China 2024 came to a successful close, marking a highly productive event. Over the three days, the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai was bustling with energy, attracting a diverse international crowd and fostering dynamic networking opportunities.

With the theme “New Trends: Modern Children, Baby, Maternity and Beyond,” CBME China 2024 successfully showcased industry innovations, enhanced quality production, and expanded product and service boundaries, offering consumers a comprehensive range of one-stop family services. The event guided maternity and baby brands in exploring new trends and promoted a more diverse and refined direction for the industry.

This year’s exhibition spanned 320,000 square meters and featured over 3,500 exhibitors and more than 4,500 global brands. Covering a wide range of categories—including maternal and infant products, food, nutritional products, toys, children’s clothing, strollers, car seats, and furniture—the event highlighted the complete industry chain. Major brands such as Pigeon, Babycare, Goo.N, Little White Bear, Thermos, Brightdairy, and many others participated, marking it as a pivotal annual event for the maternal and infant industry. The exhibition attracted over 100,000 professional visitors, who came to witness the latest developments and trends in the industry.

Selected internationally, many exhibition groups jointly build a new era of quality maternal and child care.

The event saw the participation of over 750 overseas brands from more than 30 countries and regions. These brands showcased a comprehensive array of products, including high-end children’s clothing, oral care, sleep management solutions, feeding and nutrition items, and educational toys, with many of them showing significant growth momentum. International pavilions from North America, Norway, Japan, the United Kingdom, Singapore, France, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and other places, as well as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China pavilion, appeared in succession, jointly creating a diversified international product feast, promoting cross-cultural exchanges and cooperation within the industry.

Exploring the latest product trends in the children and baby industry

In 2024, CBME once again introduced a new pavilion, meticulously crafting an innovative venue that seamlessly integrated new product showcases, trend interpretations, interactive experiences, and social expansion opportunities. This new pavilion combined new product promotions, trend displays, and conference activities, aiming to connect exhibitors and visitors with emerging industry trends and immerse them in the latest maternal and infant products.

The pavilion featured the New Product Collection Street, the Fresh Super New Product Garden, and a dedicated space for new product launches, focusing on global innovations for 2024. In alignment with the theme “New Mother and Baby, More Than Mother and Baby,” the showcased products extended to family consumption scenarios such as family nutrition, department stores, and products for teenagers.

As a trendsetter in the maternal and infant industry, CBME VISION highlighted high-quality products that aligned with the year’s consumption trends, assisting industry professionals in understanding the latest trends in maternal and infant consumption and preparing for future developments in the sector.

CBME VISION “Future New Maternal and Infant—Moon Landing Plan,” a collaborative effort with renowned designer Liang Jing and the brands Oclean, Yuebu, and Dad’s Choice, created an immersive moon-themed showroom representing limitless possibilities for maternal and infant products. Over 100,000 buyers were invited to embark on a space-themed journey to explore the future of maternity and infant care.

CBME VISION Future Baby and Maternity Life Show unveiled five major trends: green recycling initiatives, natural aesthetic education, family warmth, national trending styles, and smart labor-saving solutions. Using platforms such as Xiaohongshu, Sina, Zhihu, and Magic Mirror, the show selected high-quality products to provide the industry with insights into the latest consumption trends and identify emerging business opportunities.

The New Hall also hosted a special conference theme area, featuring events such as the Cross-border Development Conference & Cross-border Networking Session, Marketing Innovation Conference, Exquisite Moms Forum & Maternity Exchange and SSE Future Snack Valley Trends Zone. These conferences aimed to inform visitor of the latest marketing concepts, methods and successful case studies relevant to infants, children and mothers, facilitating market breakthroughs for brands.

Additionally, the New Hall served as a precise matchmaking area for brands, online platforms, institutions, and influencers. It featured “official product selectors” from top influencers on Douyin (Tik Tok in China), RED (China’s answer to Instagram), and Kwai, including notable figures such as actor Zhangyang Guoer, actor Luo Haiqiong, host Zhou Zhou, Green Bubble, Meng An and his wife, canned tomato ChloMato, and Tsinghua Mom Malanhua. These selectors evaluated new brands and identified high-quality, cost-effective parent-child products.

Supply Chain in the children and baby products industry showcased higher quality products 

The CBME Supply Chain exhibition brought together over 800 high-quality supply chain companies, encompassing a wide range of sectors including packaging materials, OEM/ODM/OBM services, raw materials, production and processing equipment, as well as design and support services. This assembly aimed to create an innovative and distinctive manufacturing exhibition area.

By integrating new quality productive forces in maternal and infant products, the event facilitated industry advancements through various initiatives such as the New Intelligence Manufacturing Zone, Supply Chain Matchmaking Meetings, and the CBME Awards Ceremony. These activities were designed to optimize the industry supply chain, enabling efficient connections between brands and supply chain companies.

The exhibition supported the transition from quantity-based to high-quality manufacturing, contributing to the high-quality economic development of the infant and maternity industry.

The Children’s education expo: exploring diverse educational paths

CBME Children Education Exhibition concentrated on childcare, early childhood education, children’s literacy development, and integrated education brands and products. This special section aimed to connect the entire educational ecosystem, including families, kindergartens, schools and communities. It served as a comprehensive platform for innovative displays, in-depth discussions and extensive collaborations.

CBME Children Education Conference was organized around two major themes, “Walking with the Children into the Future” and “Exploring New Growth with Brand Strength.” The conference featured seven specialized theme sessions that gathered experts from both domestic and international arenas to explore diverse pathways for educational development and facilitated the launch of new products by various brands.

Additionally, CBME multi-channel matchmaking meeting was held to leverage the resources of the CBME Children Baby Maternity Expo, aiming to build a cohesive maternal and child ecology and identify new channels for children’s education. The Children’s Education Brand 100 Plan was introduced to provide comprehensive support for educational companies, offering academic, market, and media resources to accelerate their growth and development.

150+ industry conferences and events for the children, baby and maternal industry

CBME China 2024 encompassed a central venue, seven subsidiary venues and over 40 parallel meetings, featuring more than 150 thematic sessions. The event brought together numerous industry leaders and experts to deliberate on the future trajectory of the maternity, infant, and child sector. Prior to the main exhibition, on the 16th, the primary venue hosted the 2024 CBME Maternity, Infant, and Child Industry Summit—titled “Traveling Through China’s Fourth Consumption Era.” This summit focused on the trends and strategic directions of the industry within the context of the fourth consumption era, offering cutting-edge insights for industry professionals.

During the exhibition, the conference sessions continued the discussions initiated at the summit, addressing contemporary topics such as cross-border opportunities, family nutrition, age-specific nutrition, marketing innovations, evolving trends among sophisticated mothers, new developments in children’s clothing, fabrics and accessories, packaging materials, and emerging channels for toys. These sessions aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the maternity and child industry, uncover new market trends, and offer valuable insights to assist brands and companies in developing future strategies.

Buyers from multiple channels gathered together in matchmaking meetings

CBME China 2024 successfully attracted over 100,000 buyers from nearly 40 diverse channels, including agents, boutique maternal and child stores, online merchants, confinement clubs, and baby and child department stores.

The event also featured a highly effective Multi-channel Product Selection Matchmaking Meeting, where buyers and sellers participated in one-on-one meetings. This setup enabled efficient connections among boutique stores, international buyers, high-quality agents, experts, group leaders, MCNs, and various platforms, generating valuable business opportunities.

In preparation for the matchmaking, the organizers meticulously gathered and analyzed the specific needs of buyers. Through precise online matching, each buyer was paired with brands that best met their requirements. This approach streamlined the process and improved the success rate of business negotiations, making the most of the critical three-hour window before the exhibition.
